Question: What do you think about Marvel’s double shipping?
March 20, 2012 2 Comments
Marvel’s June solicitations just came out and there 14 ongoing titles that have 2 issues coming out within the month. 18 if you count mini-series. Those titles are Avengers vs. X-Men (mini), Avengers Academy, X-Men: Legacy, Uncanny X-Men, Dark Avengers, Spider-men (mini), Amazing Spider-man (wouldn’t normally count but there are more than one Spider-man books now), Captain America and…, Winter Soldier, The Mighty Thor (2 issues and an annual), Journey Into Mystery, Hulk, Incredible Hulk, Invincible Iron Man, Marvel Zombies Destroy (mini), X-Factor, X-Men, and Spider-man movie (mini).
I want to know what you, our readers, think about this. I know what I think, but I don’t buy any Marvel comics. Do you like this because it’s more of the stuff you like? Do you not like it because it’s causing you to spend more money than you’d like to within a month? Are you worried about the quality of the books being double shipped? If you weren’t buying two issues a month of these titles, would you be saving your money or just buying other stuff? Please give us your thoughts on this.

I only buy a few series (X-Factor, X-Men Legacy, New Mutants), so I don’t really care. I bet the people who buy a lot of what Marvel publishes are made, though.
I think double shipping is a good way to use up story ideas faster while at the same time cutting peoples comic budget for smaller titles
