…a plane? Why would a plane be down in some metal area that looks kind of like a safe? Anyways, Warner Bros. today released an image for the now delayed until June 2013 Zack Snyder’s The Man of Steel movie.
My thoughts are after the break.
There are many questions that this little image doesn’t answer. Like, is the entire movie going to be this dark, how do the colors actually look on his suit, does he eventually grow long hair like in the ’90s? Since those questions are unanswered, I’m not going to spend any time on them.
Generally, I like what I can see of the outfit. I like the big “S” shield on the front, rather than the small shield that was in Superman returns. The hair looks a bit off, but really that is nit-picking. And besides, it’s unreasonable to expect someone to look just like Superman does in the comics. And we don’t need another Christopher Reeve look alike. Granted, I don’t think Brandon Routh is what was wrong with Superman Returns, but it is okay to make a Superman movie that has no connections in tone or look to the Richard Donner movies. I also thought the cape looked too long, but then took into consideration that he is hunched over.
Hopefully, there’ll be more promotional pictures released, but we are just under 2 years away from the release of this movie. Personally, I don’t expect to see any actual footage until. The Dark Knight Rises comes out next Summer.
