Also saw this trailer before seeing Deadpool. The movie is called Hardcore Henry. It is a first person shooter action movie. Not exactly sure what I think about it. I suppose it could be interesting. It is definitely different. What do you think?
I saw that a new Batman v Superman trailer was released earlier last week, but I had not gotten around to watching it. I am at the phase where I know I am going to go see the movie, and did not want to watch any more clips from it. However, this trailer played before the showing of Deadpool I went to. And I firmly believe that this was the trailer that have come out a while ago, and still had been the last one released. Not the one with that monster thing.
At long last, the Deadpool movie has been released to the masses. Before I get going with this review, if you happen to be a parent and have stumbled upon this review wondering if you should take your kid to see this movie, the answer is hell no. This movie is rated R for a pretty good reason. The PG-13 version that a petition was asking for thankfully did not get made. So, because other Marvel movies are fine for kids, do not think this one is. Your kid may be scarred. Or may not be. What do I know? I am not a parent. I have a cat. If your kid has already seen things like Kick Ass, then this will probably be fine for them. I would probably not keep my cat from watching it, and she is almost 2.
But I digress. So yeah, Ryan Reynolds finally got his Deadpool movie made and released. Going into it, I was a bit worried. Yes, I like the character, but how much exposure to the character would I find enjoyable, and would it reach the point where the Deadpool’s shtick went from hilarious to tiresome? Would it be like most things I watch with Will Ferrel in them? Where, if he’s a supporting character or in an SNL skit I find him funny, or would it be like one of his starring roles, where I am just completely tired of him by the end of it? (more…)
As you may know, there was a pretty big football game this past Sunday. One could even say that it was…super. In this game, the Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers. I am a Cincinnati Bengals fan, but Denver for the longest time has been my #2 team. This is all thanks to a little game for the NES called John Elway’s Quarterback. I cannot even guess as to how much of my early childhood was spent with this game. But, I loved football, and this was the only football game I had. It was before Madden, and I did not have Tecmo Bowl.
So, I have liked Denver for a while, but lately there was another factor that contributed it. That little factor is a guy named Peyton Manning. I live in Indiana, and around these parts, Manning is still seen by many as a bit of a deity. The man put the lowly Colts on their shoulders, and had a run of success that the team had never seen before in the city of Indianapolis. So, it was very nice seeing Manning win the Super Bowl, in what may very well be his final game.
I do not wish to comment on the game itself, because really it was a defensive struggle, which translates to many into boring. Instead, I want to comment on something that happened after the game. As you may have heard, Cam Newton is a classless poor sport that needs to grow up and act like a professional. Last night, after losing the biggest game of his life, in a game in which nothing went right for him, Cam Newton gave a very brief post-game press conference, while wearing a hoodie. Too many, this confirmed what they had thought about him. Confirmed all of their worst assumptions. To all that, I say balderdash. (more…)
